Privacy Policy
Last updated 10 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Luna, operated by OpenSchool ("we", "us"), collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our app and study platform (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up we collect your name, email address, and authentication details through our identity provider, Clerk.
Usage and study data. We collect the questions you ask, your answers, progress, streaks, and other activity so we can power your learning experience and analytics.
Voice. If you speak to Luna, your microphone audio is converted to text by our speech provider. We do not record or store your voice, and Luna listens only while a voice lesson is active.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to provide and improve the Service, personalise your learning, communicate with you about your account, and keep the platform secure.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models. Our Terms of Service separately prohibit using the Service or its materials to train or feed any AI or automated system.
3. Third-party services
We share limited data with trusted providers that help us run the Service, including our identity provider, our cloud hosting and analytics providers, and the AI providers that generate Luna's responses. Each processes data under its own privacy policy and only as needed to deliver their service to us.
4. Data retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active, and thereafter only as long as needed to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account inside the app, which erases your account, lessons, and files immediately.
5. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may access, correct, or delete your personal information, and object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
7. Students and young people
The Service is used by secondary-school and university students and is not intended for children under 13. Where required, we rely on appropriate consent and handle student information with additional care in line with applicable privacy laws.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "last updated" date above.
9. Contact us
